Questions & Answers for using Social Networks

The next generation of Social Networks is here: a collection of independent microNetworks based on geolocation, theme and accessibility. Twinx is first project worldwide that launched social multichannel network of such type. Anyone can start his/her own network, for example, a private one for family members; a network for socializing with friends; or a business network for exchanging business experiences among partners. When creating a network, it is necessary to establish three parameters: geolocation range of your network, the theme of the network, and accessibility. The geolocational range might be a neighborhood in a city, city, country, continent, or the entire world. The theme of the network includes kinds of topics that are discussed on the network. Special type of themes are Questions and Answers (Q&A's) and Classified advertising. Accessibility is the degree to which the network is available to users.

Every network is comprised of topics and comments. Topics are individual areas within a main theme on that network. For example, the network Automobiles might have as topics Sportscars, Tuning, How to Buy a Car, etc. Comments are communications between members below each topic. In the themes and comments it is permitted to place links, pictures, and video clips.

Networks of your interest can be tagged, i.e. grouped together for easier access, by assigning tags in your profile. In real life average person has several basic networks of people like family, friends, business circle, hobbies etc. .So for example, networks started by members of your family can be designated Family tag, your friends networks can be designated Friends, and networks engaged in your favorite sports can be tagged as My Sports, etc. This is more natural approach, closer to a real life. Add to this choice of network theme and geolocation scope and the possibilities are limitless.

Based on their degree of accessibility, there are three types of networks: Public – everyone can read and join; Private – topics and comments are readable only by members; and Stealth (hidden) – both networks and topics and comments are visible only to members (example: company internal network of employees). To join Private network you can send request to access, which must be approved by the network founder. For Stealth networks you cannot request access; the founder himself registers members. In the event of founder's absence, he can authorize any member to be the Administrator and to manage the network. An Inactive network has a special status. This is a network that is "frozen" in its current status with its existing members. This network is invisible to everyone until it is reactivated by the founder.

If you find asking youself 'Why do I need to establish or join different micro networks', there are many reasons. Here is just one obvious example: you probably don't want let your business associates to see your pictures taken on yesterday's 'wild' party ;) or you may hesitate to show your family 'weird' conversation between you and your close friends.

But thats's not all. We are developing Network add-ons, selected areas of interest for each individual network. So Company network may decide to add for example Topics (discussion timeline), Events, News, Jobs (postings of Company's new job positions), Offers (discount offers to members exclusively), even FB and Twitter timelines. Each network will become independent location and topic based microCommunity.
